Dylan Shadbolt has been selected as a 2025 Honours Research Fellow by the Sydney Environment Institute. His Honours research will evaluate the effectiveness of the Philippines’ anticipatory action framework for typhoons, combining weather forecasting with social variables to predict where disaster impacts will be greatest.
Dylan is completing a Bachelor of Engineering Honours (Civil) and Bachelor of Design in Architecture, and his research will draw out lessons and emerging challenges from anticipatory action implementation in the Philippines. He follows Lauren Hocking, who held the fellowship in 2024 for her research on social infrastructure and disasters. Congratulations Dylan!
