Dr Aaron Opdyke has been awarded a New Colombo Plan Mobility Grant (AUD 44,000) from the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. The grant will support the placement of six undergraduate students over the next two years in the Philippines for six weeks as part of their final year honours research projects.
The grant continues the lab’s long-running engagement in the Philippines under the New Colombo Plan, building on an earlier mobility program led by Dr Opdyke that supported Australian students working on disaster risk reduction in the country from 2019 to 2023. Students will develop their honours research alongside the lab’s ongoing disaster risk reduction projects in the Philippines.
