PhD candidates Emily Nabong and Arvin Hadlos were selected for the Faculty of Engineering Career Advancement Award. The competitive awards provide 6 months of funding to advance their research upon submitting their PhD theses.
Emily’s thesis examines the habitability dynamics of Pacific Islands in a changing climate, using systems approaches to understand climate mobility and adaptation. Arvin’s thesis analyses how local and Indigenous knowledge shapes multi-hazard housing reconstruction strategies in the Philippines. Congrats!
