Congratulations to Lauren Hocking who has been awarded a Sydney Environment Institute Honours Research Fellowship! Under the fellowship, Lauren will be researching how social infrastructure can reduce the impact of disasters in the Philippines.

Lauren is completing a Bachelor of Engineering Honours (Civil) and Bachelor of Science, and her honours thesis will investigate how everyday community spaces – from barangay halls to basketball courts – help build the social connections that communities draw on to prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters.
