Building safer, more vibrant communities in a changing climate

We research how communities prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters — turning evidence into safer housing, better risk assessment, and fairer humanitarian response.

A research lab at the frontiers of disasters, conflict, and climate change

The Humanitarian Frontiers Lab investigates the interface of infrastructure and social systems — how the built environment shapes, and is shaped by, the people who live with disaster risk. Our work spans the Philippines, Indonesia, Nepal, and the Pacific, in partnership with governments, humanitarian agencies, and the communities at the centre of our research.
